Some features of BIOSSET's DNA synthesizer:
High-precise delivery of reagents Reagents and solvents are delivered to the synthesis columns by metering syringe pump with a flow step of 1µl and a wide range of flow rate. Wide range of synthesis scales Easily removable columns allow the synthesis in scales 40 - 400 nmol. The synthesis protocols are fully adaptable for each scale and ensure the accurate synthesis with minimum reagents/solvents consumption. Thermal stability The built-in thermostat with the heating element stabilizes reaction conditions, decreases total time of the synthesis and consumption of reagents/solvents.
Convenient set of bottles The synthesizer is equipped with four bottles for standard phosphoramidites, four bottles for special phosphoramidites (biotin, fluorescein and others), two bottles for activators (tetrazole and the other) and eight bottles for ancillary regents/solvents. For the large scale synthesis, the bottles for activators and ancillary reagents can be easily replaced with more sizable (up to 4.3 L) bottles. Reagent compatibility The synthesizer successfully operates with reagents of world-wide producers: Applied Biosystems, Amersham Biosciences, Beckman, Glen Research, Prime Synthesis, Transgenomic, etc. Friendly and flexible computer control The synthesizer is controlled by IBM PC running under Windows 98/2000. Friendly software operates on all the synthesis stages, including run, preparation, testing, manual, and shutdown procedures. Synthesis protocols and oligonucleotide sequences are disk-stored and can be easily modified and transfered from your database to the synthesizer. Flexible programming offers an opportunity of the synthesis of new nucleic acid analogs and development of new chemistries. Built-in diagnostics ASM-800 is equipped with an automatic system for operative diagnostics of all units: valves, pump, thermostat, electronic control unit, etc.
